Richard BrownChief Executive

Richard is the Founder and Chief Executive of Smith & Brown and is responsible for overseeing purchases, valuations and development in the specialist property space.

Originally from an accounting background, Richard formerly managed accounts for a number of Europe’s princely houses and A-list celebrities. Additionally, he brings twenty more years of experience as an entrepreneur and business manager. Richard is an active investor and advisor in rural developments and in areas of infrastructure software, networking, security, storage, and wireless technology. He resides in Monaco with his wife.

Paul Smith
Paul SmithManaging Director

Paul co-founded Smith & Brown with Richard in 2000. As Managing Director he advises on all aspects of client relations and property purchase, specialising in developments and valuations, and has been personally involved in over £1 billion worth of property transactions. Paul started his career in accountancy and was personal advisor to premier league footballers, rugby players and various international sporting celebrities.

In 2010 he gained a Masters in Real Estate and Finance. He lives in West London with his wife and three sons.

David is responsible for all residential and commercial purchases and is an Expert Witness.

A former Property Receiver, he has experience in a wide variety of appointments including residential and commercial units from single occupiers, houses in multiple occupation, and large residential and commercial developments. David is also a practised rural estate valuer and is responsible for a management portfolio that extends to over 200 properties.
He splits his time between London and Edinburgh.

Peter Carr
Peter CarrLegal Advisor

Peter is the senior lawyer at Smith & Brown, advising on high-end transactions and leading the litigation and disputes-contract legal team, specialising in property development, injunctions, and professional negligence claims. He is an accredited mediator of some note and has represented several ultra-high net worth individuals.

In addition to his litigation responsibilities, he oversees the newbuilds and redevelopment dispute resolution team, which offers expertise across all types of building dispute work, solving the smallest of problems to High Court cases of high value and complexity. He is a trained mediator and takes up appointments regularly for the firm’s clients.

He advised a Fortune 100 corp on implementing a managed legal service for its high volume recurring commercial contracts.

Peter holds a Master of Laws (Construction Law & Practice), is a Chartered Construction Manager, Arbitrator, Quantity Surveyor, Adjudicator and Accredited Mediator. He resides in Scilly with his Italian wife and four children, regularly commuting to Monaco, Geneva and London.
